A couple of decades into the 21st century has certainly proven to be a very interesting time to be alive. There are so many new elements, unknowns, and rapid changes, and humanity seems to be on the precipice of even larger cascades of massive change. While many are speculating all day long, we honestly do not know whether this change is going to be very good, very bad, or a combination of both. But there will certainly be rapid change in all of our lives and in society at large, even just in this next decade.

Two perfect examples that are just now popping up in the past 1-2 years but are already dominating the landscape of people’s minds and lives, are Covid-19 and 5G.

Covid-19 is extremely mysterious. Those who listen to the mainstream narrative on the evening news think it’s a simple thing with clear cut answers (the answers given to us by the talking head “experts”), but closely examining even the mainstream narrative over the past 1.5 years reveals constantly morphing and contradictory messages on what is true. The topic also triggers extreme emotional charge in people, making it difficult to think rationally or critically about the issue.

If someone were to examine all the available information about this issue, they would see a wide variety of speculation about what it’s all about and what’s really going on. The truth is, none of us really know the whole truth, and it’s important to keep an open, curious mind about what we are seeing and hearing. One thing that’s for sure is that this worldwide crisis, happening during the age of social media and the internet (where all minds can connect to each other in a huge, intensely active thought bubble), has drastically changed all of our lives in a shockingly short span of time.

Another new and unprecedented change is 5G, or 5th Generation wireless technology. Currently, 5G is mostly an idea, and a marketing term, for a hyper-connected digital future where everything communicates with everything else, and man and machine live together almost as equals. Some consider it the beginning of a potential new era of transhumanism, where man merges with machine. To many people this brings hopeful visions of rising above the weaknesses and misfortunes of humankind, and to many others this possible future sounds like a living nightmare that could easily go terribly wrong in all the ways (just watch a few episodes of Black Mirror to get an idea).

This concept of 5G, followed by the attempted implementation of it, is on a lot of people’s minds. The actual implementation has been slow going. The current 5G frequency spectrum in many areas still widely overlaps the 4G spectrum, since utilizing the higher frequency centimeter/millimeter ranges requires intensive increase of infrastructure density. Antennas and repeaters will need to be less than 100 meters apart to transmit the incredibly fast and high loads of information required to make the world of self-driving cars and the internet of things actually happen. A lot of 5G still operates between 450 MHz and 6 GHz, which is a similar range as Wifi routers and 4G cell phones.

However, cities all over the world have rolled out what they call “high band” 5G, which is considered anywhere over 6 GHz, and up to 28 GHz and sometimes higher. This frequency spectrum is technically called centimeter waves (3-30 GHz), although popularly referred to as millimeter waves (true millimeter waves are between 30 and 300 GHz). They have been able to install enough infrastructure to increase telecommunications performance to a large degree in many dense metropolitan areas, especially in crowded places like sports stadiums, concert halls and airports.

Higher frequency use aside, humanity is using more wireless devices than ever, so our overall exposure levels (even to the lower spectrums) are going way up. This sudden increase in manmade radiation with pulsed, repetitive, oscillating frequencies is now permeating our bodies in a way we have never had to deal with in the history of our species. What are the consequences of that?

Since radiofrequency radiation (and manmade EMFs in general) are proven to negatively effect the immune system, is there any way that these EMFs are affecting our ability to handle a phenomenon like Covid-19?

Evidence for a Connection between COVID-19 and Exposure to Radiofrequency Radiation

An 18-page research paper published in January, 2021 examines the high probability of radiofrequency radiation (including microwaves and millimeter waves) as an environmental factor that can moderately or strongly impact the immune system (and other bodily systems), and therefore the body’s ability to fight off and recover from Covid-19. They examined the peer-reviewed scientific literature on the detrimental biological effects of RF radiation, and identified several ways in which RFR may be contributing to Covid-19 as a toxic environmental cofactor.

It was noticed that Covid-19 surfaced in Wuhan, China, shortly after the implementation of city-wide 5G, and spread globally, demonstrating a statistical correlation to international communities with 5G antennas installed.

They conclude that RFR (especially 5G, which includes 4G infrastructure densification) has exacerbated Covid-19 prevalence and severity by weakening host immunity and increasing virulence by 6 separate factors.

The abstract of the paper summarizes these 6 methods of interaction between RF radiation, the human body, and Covid-19:

  1. causes morphologic changes in erythrocytes including echinocyte and rouleaux formation that may be contributing to hypercoagulation;
  2. impairs microcirculation and reduces erythrocyte and hemoglobin levels exacerbating hypoxia;
  3. amplifies immune system dysfunction, including immunosuppression, autoimmunity, and hyperinflammation;
  4. increases cellular oxidative stress and the production of free radicals, exacerbating vascular injury and organ damage;
  5. augments intracellular Ca2+ essential for viral entry, replication, and release, in addition to promoting proinflammatory pathways
  6. worsens heart arrhythmias and cardiac disorders

“In short, RFR is a ubiquitous environmental stressor that contributes to adverse health outcomes of COVID-19. We invoke the Precautionary Principle and strongly recommend a moratorium on 5G wireless infrastructure at this crucial time to help mitigate the pandemic, and to preserve public health until governmental safety standards for RFR exposure based on current and future research are defined and employed.”

Let’s unpack these a little bit, to try to better understand what is happening.

Effects on the Blood

Erythrocytes are red blood cells, which are cells that carry hemoglobin through the bloodstream to deliver essential oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Both Covid-19 and RF radiation have detrimental effects on the blood. RFR makes red blood cells “sticky” and causes rouleaux formulation, which is a stacking/clumping of red blood cells, which inhibits microcirculation and oxygen transport.

RFR also increases the production of echinocytes, which are “spiky” red blood cells (also called burr cells) with abnormal and dysfunctional cell membranes. The presence of unusually high levels of echinocytes can indicate organ stress (especially in the kidneys), nutrient deficiency, toxicity and free radicals, dehydration / electrolyte imbalance, and any other factor that creates a pathological condition in the body.

RF radiation has also been shown to cause decreased hemoglobin and red blood cell production, inhibition of oxygen utilization, and hypercoagulation.

Covid-19 can also increase rouleaux formulation, echinocyte production, decrease hemoglobin, and can even cleave iron molecules out of red blood cells, which reduces the number of functional red blood cells while these free floating iron molecules cause oxidative stress, tissue damage and hypoxia.

Since both RFR and Covid-19 have similar effects on the blood, the combination of the two could exacerbate and increase the incidence of hypoxia, thrombosis, strokes, and hypercoagulation, compared to a Covid-19 infection that’s free from the influence of RFR.

Oxidative Stress

Free radical production and oxidative stress is one of the most well studied and established harmful effects of microwave radiation on the body. Oxidative stress itself can lead to many other harmful outcomes, including DNA damage, cell death and cancer. It is a nonspecific pathological condition that indicates the presence of reactive oxygen species (ROS) at a level that surpasses the body’s ability to detoxify and repair the damage they cause. Many harmful environmental factors can cause free radical production and oxidative stress.

Covid-19 inhibits the body’s pathways that naturally reduce ROS levels, which can increase the possibility for immune dysregulation that results in the “cytokine storm” overreactive immune system phenomenon observed in severe Covid-19 cases. In turn, a cytokine storm itself produces oxidative stress, creating a vicious cycle.

“RFR is an oxidative agent with a high pathogenic potential, especially when exposure is continuous.”

Any environmental factor that increases oxidative stress could worsen outcomes and increase morbidity of Covid-19.

Immune Response

Since the 1970’s, studies on microwave radiation have demonstrated damage to the immune systems of animals and humans. This is another of the most studied and well established detrimental effects of RF radiation. Findings include physical alterations in immune cells, a degradation of immunological responses, inflammation, tissue damage, and autoimmune disorders. Even low levels of microwave radiation have been shown to physically alter the essential cells of the immune system and degrade immunologic responses.

The acute phase of a Covid-19 infection shows many indications of an innate immune response, which is a healthy response to an invader. Severe cases show an overreaction by the immune system, an uncontrolled release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, called a cytokine storm. This can happen if the immune system is under significant stress and is not functioning normally. Cytokine storms can result in cell death, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), multi-organ system failure, and death.

Anything that puts the immune system under chronic stress, such as radiofrequency radiation, can increase the chances of a cytokine storm and a morbid outcome from Covid-19.

Intracellular Calcium Levels

Dr. Martin Pall’s studies on microwave radiation and voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs) in 2013 were a breakthrough in understanding a primary mechanism of damage to the body from these manmade EMFs. To read more about Dr. Pall’s work that shows how calcium channel blockers mitigate the harm from EMFs, indicating that EMFs cause damage by activating the body’s VGCCs, go here:

Intracellular calcium is also essential for viral entry, replication and release, and it has been reported that viruses hijack the calcium channels and increase intracellular calcium. Intracellular calcium may be a factor in Covid-19, as a recent study showed that elderly patients hospitalized with Covid-19 had better outcomes when calcium channel blocking drugs were used in their treatment.

Intracellular calcium is involved in numerous biochemical processes, including the regulation of pro-inflammatory cytokine production, as well as blood coagulation and thrombic cascades. RFR exposure may enhance the infectivity of the virus by increasing intracellular calcium, which can contribute to inflammatory processes and thrombosis (blood clots that obstruct blood flow).

Magnesium is a natural calcium channel blocker, so appropriate magnesium supplementation can be a good choice when exposed to RF radiation, especially if you also have Covid-19.

Heart Disease & Arrhythmias

Both radiofrequency radiation and Covid-19 have detrimental effects on the heart and cardiovascular system. RFR can impede blood circulation, alter blood pressure and heart rate, affect ECG readings, and cause chest pain, heart palpitations and arrthythmias. In severe cases, Covid-19 can damage the heart muscle through direct viral infection or as a secondary effect of immune system overactivation, which is associated with arrhythmias and mortality.

The combination of these two factors puts extra stress on the heart, reducing the chance of a complete recovery.

Conclusion

“This evidence presented here does not claim causation. Clearly COVID-19 occurs in regions with little wireless communication. The evidence indicates that RFR may weaken the host, exacerbate COVID-19 disease, and thereby worsen the pandemic.

This is the first scientific paper documenting a link between RFR emitted by wireless communication devices and COVID-19. Healthcare workers and policymakers should consider RFR as an environmental cofactor exacerbating the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods for reducing exposure to RFR should be provided to all patients and the general population.”
